Celebrating Success at AGM in Newquay

The Newquay and District Fundraising Group for Marie Curie in Cornwall met at The Atlantic Hotel for their AGM on Wednesday 20 March.

The group have been very busy fundraising over the year and have organised daffodil collections, serviced collection tins, held a Blooming Great Tea Party, a Classic Car and Country Fayre at Trewithen Gardens and a Fire Walk.   Since forming the group have now raised an impressive £64,011.85 which will be enough money to fund 3,200 hours of local nursing care in the community.

Marie Curie is here for people living with any terminal illness, whether it’s cancer or any other illness, and their families.  The charity offers expert care, guidance and support to help people get the most from the time they have left.  Our nurses work night and day, in people’s homes across the county.  The charity also helps people by giving practical information, support from trained volunteers and being there when someone wants to talk.
